When a buyer asks us for the cost of SPC flooring, the product price is only one part of the answer. The final budget can also depend on the selected construction, wear layer, format, quantity, packaging, destination, freight, site preparation, and installation method.
At ChangFlor, we prepare B2B quotations around a clear product and project brief. Our SPC flooring collection includes wood grain, stone pattern, and carpet-patterned options, so a useful comparison starts with the exact product—not a generic price per square metre.

ToggleWhat determines SPC flooring cost?
There is no responsible universal price for every SPC flooring order. A distributor buying a repeat stock item has a different cost structure from a contractor purchasing a one-off commercial project. Before we quote, we normally clarify the following items:
| Cost factor | What changes | Information to send us |
|---|---|---|
| Product construction | Core, surface, backing, locking profile, and total thickness affect the specification being quoted. | Target product, thickness, format, and installation system |
| Wear layer and surface | Wear-layer thickness, embossing, texture, and finish must match the expected use. | Traffic level, application, colour, and surface preference |
| Order quantity | Quantity affects production planning, packing, shipment arrangement, and whether the order is for stock or a project. | Required square metres, cartons, delivery schedule, and repeat-order plan |
| Packaging and branding | Standard cartons and private-label packaging can require different artwork, packing details, or coordination. | Brand name, carton artwork, labels, and packaging requirements |
| Destination and freight | Shipping cost depends on destination, route, shipment size, and delivery terms. | Country, port or address, preferred delivery term, and target timing |
| Site preparation and installation | Levelling, moisture preparation, underlay, transitions, labour, and waste are project costs outside the plank price. | Subfloor condition, installation method, floor area, and site constraints |
This is why we ask for the destination and use case before presenting a number. It helps us avoid comparing a factory product price with a project budget that also includes freight, site work, and installation.
Use the exact SKU when comparing SPC prices
SPC flooring products may look similar in a catalogue but carry different dimensions, wear layers, pad options, surfaces, and locking systems. A buyer should compare like with like and keep the product page or technical sheet attached to the quotation.
| Current ChangFlor example | Published product-page information | Why this matters to cost |
|---|---|---|
| SPC Flooring NO.1013 | Dimension: 183/184/228 mm × 1220 mm; thickness: 4–8 mm; wear-resistant layer: 0.2–0.5 mm; material: PVC + CaCO₃ + additive. | Format, selected thickness, wear layer, and complete construction must be fixed before comparing quotations. |
| SPC category examples | Several current listings show 1220 × 184 × 4 mm / 0.3 in the category display. | That display is a product example, not a universal specification or a guaranteed price for every SKU. |
The figures above come from ChangFlor product pages and category information available when this article was prepared. They describe representative products; they should not be applied to every SPC item without checking the selected SKU.

Product price, landed cost, and installed cost are different
For B2B planning, we separate three levels of cost:
- Product price: the selected SPC flooring product under the agreed quotation conditions.
- Landed cost: product price plus packaging or approved customization, freight, insurance where applicable, import charges, and local delivery.
- Installed cost: landed cost plus subfloor preparation, underlay or accessories, labour, transitions, waste, and other site work.
A simple planning formula is:
Estimated installed budget = product cost + packaging/customization + freight and import costs + site preparation + installation and accessories.
This formula is a budgeting framework, not a price promise. The final amount depends on the commercial terms, destination, site, and exact product selected for the order.

How thickness and wear layer affect the quotation
Thickness and wear layer should be discussed together, but they are not interchangeable. Total thickness affects the plank build-up, finished floor height, transitions, and the feel of the floor. The wear layer is related to surface exposure and should be matched to the expected traffic and maintenance routine.
For a commercial order, we ask the buyer to confirm:
- the total thickness required for the site build-up;
- the wear-layer thickness and surface treatment;
- whether an attached IXPE or EVA pad is required for the selected construction;
- the locking system and installation instructions;
- the expected traffic, rolling loads, and cleaning routine.
If you are deciding between specifications, our guide How to Choose the Right SPC Flooring Thickness for Commercial Projects explains why the thickest option is not automatically the most economical choice.
Do not leave freight, packaging, and site work out of the budget
For distributors, the purchase decision often includes carton design, label language, pallet or loading requirements, stock planning, and repeat-order consistency. For contractors, the important items may be floor preparation, installation sequencing, transitions, protection during construction, and handover documents.
We recommend putting these items into the same cost sheet as the product price:
| Budget line | Questions for the buyer or project team |
|---|---|
| Material quantity | What is the net floor area, and what allowance is required for cuts, pattern direction, and replacements? |
| Packaging | Is standard ChangFlor packaging suitable, or is private-label artwork and labelling required? |
| Freight and delivery | Which country, port, warehouse, or project address should be used for the freight calculation? |
| Subfloor preparation | Does the site need levelling, moisture treatment, cleaning, or repair before installation? |
| Accessories and installation | Are underlay, profiles, skirting, adhesive, labour, and protection included in the project budget? |
| Documents and approval | Which technical sheets, samples, test reports, or market documents are required before purchase? |
Quality documents are part of a commercial comparison
A lower quotation is not necessarily lower cost if the product does not meet the project brief or if the buyer must replace material later. We suggest confirming dimensions, wear layer, surface, locking system, packaging, and the available technical documents before the purchase order is issued.
Where a project requires a standards-based review, the applicable reference may include ISO 10582:2017 or relevant ASTM resilient floor-covering standards. The relevant edition, test scope, and applicability must be checked for the exact product and destination market; a standard reference alone does not prove that every SKU meets every requirement.
What we need to prepare an SPC flooring quotation
To give you a useful commercial response, send us as much of the following information as possible:
| Quotation input | Example information |
|---|---|
| Buyer role | Distributor, wholesaler, importer, contractor, developer, or retail brand |
| Project location | Country, port, warehouse, or project delivery address |
| Product brief | Wood grain, stone pattern, or carpet-patterned; target size, thickness, wear layer, and finish |
| Quantity and schedule | Estimated square metres, first-order quantity, repeat-order potential, and required delivery window |
| Packaging requirements | Standard packaging, private label, language, barcode, carton artwork, and pallet preferences |
| Documents and sample | Technical data, test documents, colour sample, and approval process |
With this information, we can confirm suitable product options, sample arrangements, packaging details, and the next step for a factory-direct quotation. If you do not have every detail yet, send the project type, country, approximate area, and target design first.
Request an SPC flooring sample and quotation
SPC flooring cost becomes easier to compare when the product, quantity, destination, and installation requirements are clear. We can help you review the complete specification and separate product cost from freight, site work, and installation.
